Every year we have been marking Roma National Day, often in isolation in our own locailty. But 2001 is the 30-year JUBILEE of the lst World Romani Congress and adoption of the Romani Flag - an occasion to celebrate together.
Join the march of 100,000 taking place through co-ordinated events in a hundred towns and cities around the globe - from Toronto to Tirana, from Subotica to Sydney. The first Romano Ustiben promises to be the greatest yet mobilization of activists, a worldwide manifestation in favour of recognition and rights for the Roma Nation.
USTIBEN 2001 calls for:
End of racial attacks
Better treatment for Roma refugees
Protection and safe return for Kosovo Roma
Equal rights and freedom of movement
Moreover, the march of 100,000 celebrates our brotherhood and unity, our culture and our Nationhood.
